Irish actress Caitriona Balfe is set to become a household name after being cast as Claire Randall in cult TV series Outlander, which began airing in the US in August 2014.

Balfe plays the main character, a WWII British Army nurse who time travels back to the Scottish highlands in the 18th century and finds herself in the middle of a battle zone. With previous credits including films Escape Plan, Now You See Me and Crush, and being the only Irish woman to walk for Victoria's Secret, Balfe is looking to stamp her mark in the TV world.
